Important Tips On Your Juicer

In order to get the best results from the Super Angel Juicer, Do insert a small amount of food into the feeding chute, never a whole bunch of food at a time. When you insert a small amount of food when juicing, the food can be crushed and ground efficiently by and between two rotating gears. Furthermore, two rotating gears can crush cellulose fibers, breaking up cells in vegetables and fruits, extracting the nutrients locked inside such as minerals, vitamins, enzymes, amino acids and complex carbohydrates. If you insert lots of food into the feeding chute however, the two rotating gears will not be able to break up the individual fiber cells and fail to extract the nutrients hidden deep inside. It will also cause damage to the extracting screen housing. This is because the motor runs slowly at only 82 rpm, meaning the twin gears cannot grab a whole bunch of food at a time. You should insert food little by little into the feeding chute. You will need to cut some food into an appropriate size to fit into the feeding chute. This is the reason the feeding chute is small in diameter.

Cleaning Tips for Bushing in Motor Shaft

Please note ! Right after juicing, please clean the surrounding area(white bushing) of motor shaft(where the driving gear goes in) by spraying water. When spraying water on the white bushing surrounded the motor shaft, please lift the back of the juicer(bottom part) slightly so that the water doesn't get inside of the white bushing. Do not rub the white bushing with either brush or towel. Please dry up any water around the white bushing by gently tapping with soft towel so as not to damage the small o-ring located at the center of the bushing.

Tips for Carrot Juicing

After several sessions of carrot juicing, you will get your own feel for how much pressure you need to use with the wooden pusher. The slowly rotating gears(only 82 rpm) are not able to grab carrots quickly. You will need to use moderate pressure, but not too much, it won't work when there is too much pressure applied. You will need to cut the carrots into appropriate sizes to fit into the feeding chute. As long as the diameter of the carrots fit into the feeding chute, all you will need to do is cut them to about 5 to 6 inches in length. For large diameter carrots, it will be a lot easier to press down on them if you split them in half. Please insert only one piece at a time, waiting until each piece is crushed down completely.

Sensor to Run the Motor

Please remember that the motor doesn't run without first attaching the extracting(screen) housing to the motor base unit. The motor runs after the extracting housing is attached to the motor base unit and locked in with the clamp.

Sensor protection

In order to protect the sensor(magnet) located at the bottom of the extracting(screen) housing, please do not submerge the sensor area in water. You can still clean the sensor area with water anytime though. It is also fine to submerge the screen area of the extracting housing in water.

10 Minutes Rest per Every 30 Minutes of Operation

We suggest following the instruction of '10 minutes rest per every 30 minutes operation' as described in your user's manual. Also, please check if the fan is working properly. The motor is equipped with an automatic heat sensor that protects the motor from heating up. If the temperature of the motor gets too hot, the thermostat will stop the motor from running. When the temperature of the motor drops down, the motor will start working again.

How to Clean the Clogged Holes of Screen

Please check screen holes to see if they're clogged by calcium/mineral deposits from produce. Clogged holes cause the yield ratio(amount of juice) to drop. You can check the holes under light. To clean the holes of the screen: Please soak the screen area(only screen area, not the sensor area) in a mixture of baking soda and water (ratio - baking soda powder/water : 2 to 8) overnight. This will loosen the scaling and much of it can be brushed off with bristles. For better results, please spray extra baking soda powder onto the surface of the screen while brushing with a bristle. Please note that you should not soak the sensor area of the screen housing in water.

Soft Fruit Juicing

The twin gear juicer sometimes has a little bit of a challenge when it comes to soft fruit juicing because it can clog the holes of the screen with mushy pulp. Therefore when juicing soft fruits, such as citrus, strawberries, grapes (also cucumber), we suggest that you take the time to cut the food up into small pieces and feed them into the chute little by little. Because soft fruits have no fiber, their mushy pulp can easily clog the screen holes and juice can back up into the feeding chute. It can also cause dripping from the lower clamp, which is normal and not a defect. When backing up, please press & hold the reverse button for 3 to 5 seconds until the back-up is cleared. Please also use the wooden pusher with silicone o-ring as opposed to the standard one to prevent splashing. Again, please remember to slowly insert food, piece by piece, into the feeding chute when soft fruit juicing. Also, if you don't mind your soft fruit juice being mixed with carrot, you can minimize juice back up by alternating between soft fruits and carrots while juicing.

We have recently begun providing silicone o-rings(seal), which are designed to surround the edge of the large mouth(not the feeding chute) of the extracting screen housing. It minimizes leakage from the lower clamp. The silicone ring is mostly needed for soft fruit juicing, not for regular juicing of vegetables, leafy green, etc.

If you juice soft fruits often, we recommend using the soft fruit screen housing(optional parts). The soft fruit screen housing is identical in size and shape to the standard screen housing, but has bigger(coarse) holes on the screen. With the soft fruit screen housing however, you could have a slight amount of pulp in the juice.
